The Lone Acre CSA 2011

To sign up, email -theloneacre at gmail dot com- with 1) your address, 2) type of share, and 3)location. I’ll follow up with info about payment.

The CSA will run from June 25- November 19 (22 weeks)

Delivery days will be

Friday from 5-7pm on farm in Southold

&

Saturdays to Brooklyn and lower Manhattan.

Here’s what to look forward to…

arugula, ground cherries, basil, beets, purple broccoli, cabbage, carrots, napa cabbage, sweet-hot peppers, cucumbers, dill, lemon balm, thyme, several types of mint, garlic, kale, leeks, lettuce heads, onions, parsley, artichoke (hopefully), parsnips, peas, sweet potatoes, radishes, cardoon, wild mix of lettuce greens, celery, scallions, celery root, swiss chard, fennel, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, cilantro, turnips, winter squash, zucchini, chicory, dandelion greens, pea shoots, peanuts, colored sweet corn, kohl rabi, edible flowers, maybe even ginger! and likely even more.

Both FULL and PARTIAL shares will combine a balance of herbs, greens, and of-the-moment produce (e.g. peas early, tomatoes mid-season, sweet potatoes late). The two shares will generally adhere to the following format:

Full share consisting of 6-10+ items each week, 1-3 bunches of herbs, 1-3 bunches of greens, 1-4 units of seasonal produce:  {Click here to see examples of weekly full shares from The Lone Acre CSA 2010}

Partial share consisting of 4-7 items, 1-2 herbs, 1-2 bunches of greens, 1-3 units of seasonal produce.

*For home delivery, there will be a delivery charge, if you and your neighbors buy a share and pick up at your place, you divide the delivery fee.

**There will also be an administrative/materials fee of $20/share covering packaging and administration. Possible volunteer work could be exchanged in lieu of the fee in extenuating circumstances.

***A limited number of volunteer/work shares are available in exchange for a reduced CSA fee.
